Engaging the Community to Help Feed Seniors

Positioned as the premier nonprofit serving seniors over the age of 60, Meals on Wheels People works to improve the lives of aging adults and empower their independence as individuals by providing them with healthy meals, human connections, and additional social support.

To increase its donor base, they turned to Bloom for PR help, specifically for its annual Donate Dinner fundraiser. We created a holiday-themed chef competition leveraging notable local chefs. Their challenge—create a Thanksgiving-inspired meal for $7.39 per serving, the cost of one Meals on Wheels People meal. Local FOX affiliate, KPTV, made the competition an annual event, resulting in increased annual donations year-over-year.
