Our Origin
A Seed of an Idea
Brianna McKinney founded Bloom Communications in 2012 with two clients and a deep desire to impact the community. She envisioned a different kind of marketing agency—one that balances purpose, profit, and the well-being of its people, and this legacy continues forward in the work that the Bloom Communications team embarks on every day.

A Mission with Heart
Built on the foundation of making a meaningful impact, Bloom Communications emphasized social and environmental responsibility from the beginning. Brianna fostered an environment where employees could collaborate with clients dedicated to community betterment and engaged in community service. This dedication was recognized in 2022 when Bloom became the first B Corp Certified marketing agency headquartered in Texas.
The give-back component is part of the fabric of the agency. Team members view their work as an opportunity to expand missional impact for nonprofits and for-profits that share this same desire and provide community members with information to join with them in giving of their time, treasure, and talent to create lasting change in our communities and the world at large.

Growing Stronger Together
Bloom quickly expanded from a two-client agency in Austin, TX to a full-service agency serving clients and the community from coast to coast. The second location was opened in Portland, Oregon in 2015, followed by a third location in Asheville, North Carolina in 2022. Today, Bloom is interwoven into the communities it serves, continuing to flourish.
A Vision for the Future
Though Brianna has transitioned ownership to explore her next career path calling in healthcare, her legacy and mission endure through the new leadership at Bloom.
Jamie Matusek, now Owner & CEO stands poised to lead Bloom Communications into a transformative new chapter.
She had the privilege of working with the Bloom Communications team first as a client—a relationship she held for 8 years before joining as the COO in 2020. She was then promoted to the position of CEO in 2023.
Under her visionary leadership, the agency is set to explore unprecedented opportunities for growth and innovation. Jamie’s dynamic approach will bolster Bloom’s dedication to supporting nonprofit and purpose-driven organizations, ensuring these clients receive enhanced service and strategic guidance. As Bloom navigates these exciting developments, it will continue to nurture its foundational values while expanding its impact, helping mission-driven organizations thrive and make a difference in their communities.
