Jamie Matusek brings more than 28 years of corporate leadership experience to her role as CEO and owner of Bloom Communications. A graduate of Texas A&M University with a BA in Journalism, Jamie began her career in television, where she honed her media skills and poise. Her early days in the industry were rooted in consumer marketing research and website development for clients in the consumer packaged goods and hospitality sectors.

In 2000, Jamie moved to Austin and led a team in marketing and sales before transitioning to a new role where she transformed an in-house design shop into a full-service marketing agency. Her extensive experience in these fields paved the way for her to join Bloom Communications as COO in 2020. By 2023, Jamie had been promoted to CEO, and she now proudly serves as the owner of the agency.

Under Jamie’s leadership, Bloom Communications continues to innovate. Her strategic direction continues to drive the agency’s mission of inspiring people to take action through powerful storytelling that promotes healthier, more sustainable communities. Her responsibilities include driving the company towards new growth and innovation, especially in support of nonprofit and purpose-driven clients. She is focused on culture and team development, coaching women in leadership, and expanding nonprofit solutions into areas such as organizational strategic planning, marketing, donor stewardship, and digital education offerings.

The fabric of the Bloom Communications team is one of giving back. They volunteer monthly at nonprofits in the community and hold the core principle that it’s important to give of your time, treasure, and talent.

Jamie’s achievements are numerous and noteworthy. She recently was recognized as a nominee for the 2024 Austin Business Journal’s Women in Business Awards, the 2024 Austin Business Journal’s Best CEO Awards, and the 2024 Greater Austin Business Awards in the Employee Health & Wellness Category by the Austin Chamber of Commerce. Additionally, she is a sought-after speaker, having presented for the Association of Fundraising Professionals, the Public Relations Society of America – Austin Chapter, the Nonprofit Learning Lab, and Restoration Church.

In 2024, she also earned her Leadership Coaching Certification with plans to support women in accomplishing their career dreams.

On a personal note, Jamie is a proud mother of an amazing son who is starting his college journey and continued baseball career. She is also an encourager at heart, often referring to herself as the “Chief Encouragement Officer.” This philosophy guides her in both her professional and personal life. Jamie is currently writing two books—one aimed at helping women step into their dreams after experiencing divorce, and another for new CEOs navigating their roles.

Jamie’s life motto is “Write the vision and make it plain! Enjoy the journey of life and choose a positive mindset.” This mantra, coupled with her extensive experience and passionate leadership, continues to inspire all those who work with her at Bloom Communications.
